Participants

Arnab Bose obtained his  M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta. He is currently pursuing  Ph.D. degree  in transcription biology under the supervision of Prof. Tapas Kumar Kundu at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore.

Dr. Reena Das obtained her MD in Pathology from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1992 and Dip NB Pathology in 1994. After finishing her Senior Residency she joined the institute in 1996 as faculty  and is presently designated as a professor in Hematology department at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Her fields of interest include molecular diagnostics of non-malignant hematological disorders like thalassemias, hemophilias, G6PD deficiency and red cell membrane disorders.

Dr. Sandeep Kaushik, Ph.D., is pursuing his post doctoral research at Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi, India. His post-doctoral research involves analysis of the transcriptomic data acquired from RNA-seq of mycobacterial samples. His major focus has been in the analysis of differential expression in pulmonary strains compared to extra-pulmonary strains and understanding how biofilms in M. smegmatis are formed. His Ph.D. work focused on the computational analysis of structural stability and substrate specificity of legume lectins using molecular dynamics simulations under supervision of Dr. Debasisa Mohanty and Prof. Surolia at NII, New Delhi.

Dr. Swathi Shetty, Ph.D., obtained her doctoral degree in Genetics from Prof. Jennifer Graves laboratory in Melbourne, Australia. Her research involved study of sex chromosomes and sex determining genes in birds and reptiles. She joined the Centre for Human Genetics, Bangalore in 2003 and has received a grant from the Department of Biotechnology, India to work in the area of buffalo genomics. Her current work also includes molecular DNA diagnostics and human genetics.

D. R. Prasanna obtained his M.Tech degree in Bioinformatics from SASTRA University. Presently he is working as Assistant Professor at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur. His main research area is Computer Aided Drug Design and presently working on tetramer structure development for Alpha-Synuclein.

Manjunath Dammalli obtained his M.Tech degree in Bioinformatics from SASTRA University. Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur, Karnataka. His main research area is Genomics.

Reena R. D'Souza obtained her M.Sc. degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Manipal University, Manipal, India. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from School of Life Sciences, Manipal University. Her research interests include Molecular Genetics, Epigenetics and Bioinformatics.

Sweta Sikder obtained her M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from the Guha Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Calcutta, Kolkata. She is currently pursuing Ph.D. degree under the guidance of Prof. Tapas Kumar Kundu at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore. Her research work involves the study  of chromatin dynamics  and understanding the role of non-histone protein PC4 and related miRNAs in breast cancer.
