Biography

Dr. Harsha Gowda has been involved in various bioinformatics projects including development of Human Protein Reference Database and functional annotation of human X chromosome. He worked in Dr. Akhilesh Pandey's laboratory at Johns Hopkins University on proteomic profiling of pancreatic cancers where his work involved proteomic approaches to study signaling pathways activated in pancreatic cancers and identification of novel biomarkers. He has received a Wellcome Trust-DBT Early Career Fellowship which is intended for the most promising young researchers in India. He is a reviewer for several international journals including Proteomics, International Journal of Cancer and Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) ,Proteins and Proteomics and an Editorial Board member of Journal of Proteomics. He is also a reviewer for grant proposals to Cancer Research UK. He is currently involved in a number of projects including cancer biomarkers, proteogenomics and human genome analysis.
